When migrant workers are protected, workplaces are safer and fairer for everyone.
The Multicultural Workers Collective is a Unions WA movement for migrant workers, and their communities across Western Australia.
We are leaders in multicultural community engagement, workplace rights and advocacy. Through trusted support, access to free legal assistance, education, advocacy and collective action, we strengthen migrant workers' voices, build collective power and help create safer, fairer and more inclusive workplaces for all.
We deliver culturally safe and inclusive services that are free of charge, confidential and multilingual, available across Western Australia, including regional areas, and built on our engagement with multicultural communities.
Exploitation is not always obvious, and it can take many forms. If any of this feels familiar, you are not alone, and support is available.
“The session explained our rights in a very clear and practical way. Now I can share this information with my friends and family.”
“Before attending this session, I didn't know I had rights in Australia. For the first time, I felt like someone is on my side.”
“The expert guidance on visa protections, the Workplace Justice Visa, and employer obligations under the Migration Act provided us with clear, usable information. If your organisation works with or employs people on temporary visas, I strongly encourage you to attend.”
“The session has given me more clarity in hiring workers on visa. I have learned about my responsibilities as an employer and the importance of doing VEVO checks. Very helpful!”
